Café Opposite Post Office is a modest, unpretentious café tucked into a quiet side street in Palma's Centre district, just behind the main post office. It’s exactly the kind of spot where locals drop in for a quick, no-fuss meal or a simple coffee break during a busy day. Despite its small exterior footprint, the café offers more seating inside than you might expect, making it a convenient stop for anyone looking to rest for a moment amid the city's bustle.

The vibe here is straightforward and authentic — think casual lunchtime crowd, mostly locals or travelers who appreciate honest, traditional Spanish café culture without the tourist fanfare. The menu leans heavily on simple, hearty sandwiches like Bocata de Entraña and Bocata Sobrasada, keeping prices reasonable and portions satisfying. It’s a place more focused on everyday flavor than fancy presentation.

Many come during lunch hours when the café buzzes with a steady flow of regulars and working people grabbing a quick, filling bite. The seating inside gives a relaxed atmosphere to take a break from sightseeing or running errands nearby. You won’t find any frills here — no elaborate décor or extensive drink list — just solid food, easy service, and a sense of being in an unpretentious neighborhood spot. The owner’s hands-on approach adds to the welcoming, local feel for those who appreciate a genuine connection rather than touristy polish.

This café is best suited for anyone wanting an affordable, authentic Spanish snack or light meal without the hassle of crowded tourist hotspots. Early afternoons and lunchtime are the liveliest moments to drop by, especially if you want to blend with the local pace. Whether you’re popping in for a well-made coffee, a quick sandwich, or a short pause in your Palma explorations, Café Opposite Post Office delivers a straightforward, familiar experience you’d expect from a small, local Spanish bar.

Proper Spanish price and I think it was the owner was the only person to make us feel welcome and not like stupid tourists. It's a small Spanish bar behind the post office. Normal food normal price.

This is a cheap and cheerful, no frills cafe which offered a large lunchtime menu. They had a large selection of sandwiches and drinks which was perfect for a quick lunch stop on a busy day of being a tourist in the city. It was also excellent value for money. The cafe looks deceptively small and busy from the outside but there is plenty of seating inside! Overall, a great place to grab a quick bite to eat but this isn’t this isn’t the place for you if you’re after a fancy sit down meal. There are also some vegetarian options available, but no vegan options as far as I could see.

Nice little cafe in a side street. They have a small menu card for breakfast and lunch. The typical Brocattas are very good!

I've been to this place twice because it's really delicious. Authentic food, cheap and simple. It's not a fancy restaurant, but the food is worth it.

Found this place by accident in a quick search of a spot to charge my phone. Although I didn’t speak spanish and the nicest Mr. Fernando didn’t speak english he made so much effort to strike up a conversation. I ordered fresh orange juice and the price was very accurate- only €3. The atmosphere was so nice I even received two cookies!! I will for sure come back there the next time I visit Palma, this was the best random meeting i got to experience there! I really recommend this place :)
